Week 17 - ALLEZ MON VOISON À LA CRÈCHE 🎶

Pdays today not Monday this week cus the holidays

We went Caroling to an old people's and it made their night! It was fun

My centipede bite is back somehow. Seriously. My finger was as all completely healed  2 weeks ago and now it's just back. NO I DIDN'T GET BIT AGAIN. The venom is still in my finger??? Luckily Sœur Toussaint was a nurse before this and squeezed a lot of it out. But not all. My finger is swollen. Everybody says I should got to the hospital

I had a very merry Christmas! We went to 2 different member meals and it was SO GOOD the first one was with my district and the second with the whole zone and there was a NICE piano and a guitar and it was so fun and THE CHICKEN!!! 

OH MY GOSH THE CHICKEN WAS SOOOOO GOOD I WANTED TO JUMP OF THE BALCONY!!!!!

WE GOT A NEW CARRRR LIKE NEW NEW AS IN TOYOTA 2022 HYBRID SOMETHING AND IT'S SOOO BEAUTIFUL I CALL IT WHITE CHRISTMAS 

also white christmas because that's the freaking move we watched on Christmas cus that won against The Incredibles????? Okay ?

OH there was this one day that God just gave us everything we needed the second we needed it! Like CRAZY things. For example, EVERY time we needed the bus, one pulled up and stopped right in front of us. Even when it was in the middle of nowhere in front of someone's house. INSANEEEE. Cus 3 Nephi 13:30-32 =D

I can't really remember the other things but that scripture is really important

Week 16 - A pretty cool scar

Well my week started TERRIBLE thanks so much for asking

I was woken up in the night by my finger. It was stinging. I was like okay anyways??? I'm going back to sleep. But then the spirt was like wwaaaaake uuuuup so I popped open my eyes and was like shoot somethings wrong. AND AS SOON AS I THOUGHT THAT, SŒUR TOUSSAINT IMMEDIATELY WOKE UP AND SAT UP AND SAID "Qu'est-ce qu'il y a ?") which basically means what's the matter?) I was like "I don't know, I need to turn on my lamp" and I did and on the base of my mdidle finger there was these red mark just a bit bigger than an earring back. And it was STINGING AND BURNING!!! I was like "I think something bit me!" my hand started to go numb and it was on fire and so I had my Bella Swan moment I was like AH... BURNING!!! as I was grasping my forearm. So yeah phone calls happened, I was running out the door to go to the hospital, then I wasn't, then Sœur Toussaint and I were tearing apart our room hunting down the culprit-James-I mean the centipede. MIGHT I ADD... CENTIPEDES ARE DISGUSTING AND POISONOUS! Our room is small and has like 5 thjings in it total, so we were losing our minds when we couldn't find it. We FINALLY found it hidinf in a folded up piece of paper!!!! We smashed, sprayed, crushed, smacked, stomped it to death. Ugh. Just knkowing that that thing had freely crawled all over my in my sleep... On my skin.... Oh nah.

I asked Sœur Toussaint how the heck she knew something was wrong. She said she was just asleep, dreaming, and she felt that something was wrong with me so she woke up and asked. She is scary in tune with the Spirit sometimes. LIKE WHAT THE HECK! The SECOND I thought "nah somethings wrong" she shot up awake and asked what's the matter!!! Waaaack

Crazy experience, much learned. 

Oh and our car? Yeah it broke. So we switched to another car! Yeah that broke too. SO WE'RE ON BIKES AGAIN! (with the elders picking us up for routes that are dangerous like church) RENAULT...... But président took it up with the area presidency... We're getting 3 good toyata Christmas gifts soon but I'm not supposed to know that so shhh

The talent show happened on Saturday, it was way fun. I did a lil music number with 2 members, aimez vos frères on guitar and ukelele

Vèronique dropped usaka she told us she's not interested and doesn't wanna meet anymore

Nah jk I'm not upset at all actually, if she was supposed to join the true church at this time, she would've. Conversion, I've learned, is a very personal thing that is not easily interpreted, and it's not measured by the things we do. I mean, the things we do (like go to church and read scriptures) can sometimes be INDICATORS of conversion, but those things alone aren't conversion. So yeah, I worry not.

ELDER HANSEN GOT APENDICITIS! HE HAD TO GET SURGERY! It was scary. Sœur Toussaint and I visited him in the hospital one evening and we brought a deck of cards (that I made out of paper on the drive over) and played go fish with him. It was actually way fun. But he couldn't laugh cus of his surgery, and that was REALLY hard. But it was a very "light the world" moment. Good ol elder Hansen.

Our neighbor has PUPPIES! Its been funny because Sœur Toussaint is very scared because she thinks the mom will attack us if we get too close but as for me and my history with puppies? Everything about them invites me in... Their voice, their face... Even their smell. As if they need any of that. As if they could outrun me! As if they could fight me off.

Speaking of Twilight, president said we could watch a movie for Christmas, and for some reason, all the elders pretended like they DIDNT want to watch Twilight when I very seriously suggested it??????

We're starting to teach people who had some black magic history. This will be interesting. Black magic stuff here is WAAACK you can walk into a house here or talk to a person and in 2 seconds easily know SOMETHINGS up

Week 15 - What the freak Renault

Renault is the brand of all our cars. And it sucks and keeps breaking. What the freak

WE HAD THE BEEEEEST VISIT WITH SOME MEMBERS!! They're a young married couple and I walked in their little living room and there was Spiderman comics and other comics and a REAL PIANO... suddenly I knew French. We got talking so much about all that stuff and I got to play their piano it was so so awesome and I had 0 worries I was so refreshed

People in Guadeloupe are actually kinda super really racist, it's like everybody just hates everybody here. Léta fwanse asasen is spray painted everywhere, go ahead and google translate that

But it's good that I have Sœur Toussaint as a companion, we got that diverse companionship 

Some new lady was in relief society and she said shes from france, just on vacation here cus she had some really serious questions for God and she's catholic so she asked her priest and he was like super mean and told her she asks too much of the lord and so she and her husband just up and left and came here for a week and when she was here she decided "I'm never going back to the catholic church ever again or any church" and the moment she said that she saw the elders and she just decided to talk to them and BAM now she was at church and she started crying..... 

THEN Véronique, the friend we teach who still hasn't even had all the lessons, was like omg guess what I GET you slyvie cus I'm from france too and I have catholic background too and the catholic church was rude and misogynistic to me too... 

BUT I went to Jerusalem and walked where Jesus walked and there was a different feeling I never felt with the catholic church... And I feel that same feeling with THIS church! There's so much love

WOAAAAH Véronique is cracked w the Gospel! Just get in the dang font already so you can get the holy ghost and fully use the Atonement lady! 

Some family showed up to our branch counsel and I was like what the heck they're so different... They look so American.... And they were. Theyre from provo and they'll be here for 3weeks soooooo... Pray for me

YO shout-out to my mother for the Christmas package

Elder Duke and Sœur White finished their missions this transfer! We dropped them off at the airport, it was way sad. Guadeloupe is gonna fall apart now.

The older women in my branch need to stop shipping me with the elders. Actually, I don't really mind their talking. But when they make me take PICTURES with the ones they believe they've received "inspiration" that we'd be a great couple???? Nah... Sisters... Sisters..... You doin too much.

Oh Sœur Monteiro came over for exchanges. Pic included. She prayed for our water to turn on. It worked. It hasn't turned off since. I'm a little scared of her. 

I believe that one reason why we have the veil is because the better we understand our identity as a child of God, the more righteous and close to God we are. Every principle and reason behind every commandment and rule is ALWAYS traced back and rooted to our identity as a child of God. WE ARE ROYALTY BY BIRTHRIGHT (I LOVE YOU KING JULIEN) Learning about who you are moves proportionatately with the growth of your testimony
