So lemme tell you about MY book of mormon, so it's your regular quadruple combination leather bound with my name stamped on it, classic mark of the Utahn missionary, and ever since I got it (right b4 my mission) I've been so hesitant to mark it up, that I actually have never written anything it it!!! So all thats in it is a bunch of black underlines (absolutely NO variating marks allowed, only underlines made by a black pilot g-20 7 pen NOTHING ELSE) and lots of sticky notes. That's not a very good experience, and it's not really "free".
WELL
It was one of those days this week where xyz was happening so I was like hmm what do I do with myself in the mean time, with this time on my hands? And I picked up an old paperback book of Mormon (English) from the shelf and sat on the couch to read. And it was (formerly known as) Sœur White's book of Mormon! Full of colorful markings, I loved it. Then I saw that after (formerly known as) sr white had gone home, at some point (formerly known as) Sœur Hamilton had, like me, picked it up, and she had added her own markings and notes to it too!!! So for me I was like AHH
cus i lvoe this chicks and now they're home and their notes were valuable to me and reminders of the love
cus i lvoe this chicks and now they're home and their notes were valuable to me and reminders of the loveThe thing is, because that copy of the BofM was marked up and not in the greatest condition, I was like "hey, I feel totally fine to add my own notes and stuff in THIS copy!" Ohmy gosh. I have not picked up my quad combo since. My bofm experience is completely different cus I just freely mark and note and all that, I've carried that copy all over. It means so much to me
But that little expericen is more symbolic to me actually, it's like the law of God. How The law is supposed to serve us, we aren't supposed to serve the law. And lemme tell you I was SERVING that quad combo, it wasn't serving me. And yeah, when we freely mark and note, it's not gonna be perfect and things might get messy, but I learned it's much more beautiful that way anyways. Life's more beautiful when it means something, so don't restrict yourself from having meaningful experiences. Most of the time, it's people who give life meaning
AMEN amen hallelujah
Did "service" for Isabelle gamiette (don't hmu)

Oh this week I was stirred up unto a rememberence of the fact that actually not everyone had "the talk" when they were little. You know, the one where your dad explains the differences between elk, deer, and moose, what they are, how to tell them apart, which meat is the best (elk). Befcause I was doing some language study and I asked sister Teanuanua about the French l words for "elk, deer, and moose" to see if Google translate was right or clowning me, and she was like "WHAT? THOSE AREN'T WORDS!" After about 10 minutes we figured out that she has literally never heard of an elk in her entire existence (Fakarava moment) and so that was fun to show her pictures and explain the three animals, she was shook. Then I told her people hunt them and she was like "no you can't kill them" then I said "okay then you can't kill fish" and she was like "oh you eat them? " and then all was well (dont worry I explained it nicely I'm just paraphrasing)
Even bigger amen amen hallelujah

I like that our mission president Bickmore never says "that's against the rules" he just says "we don't do that". I LOVE that, the focus is not on the law, but on who we are; a reminder of what we can become with Christ through His law. We're not obsessed with the law, we just follow the law giver so by default we obey the law
(NEW CHARACTER UNLOCKED: SISTER NORELL?!?!?)
That's all.
