Shout-out to Mary Jean and Sherman's posterity and all their lovers
Yesterday was my 6 month mark! That means I'll be home in a year. Unless I extend my mission, cus hopefully at that point I'll be like I NEVER WANNA LEAVEEEEE
But as you know, I've been living the Job life so I'm not totally at that mindset as of right now

But I'm really happy with this first 1/3 of my mission, not because of what happened, because honestly it was HARD and I CANT say I absolutely loved it. But I'm happy because of how much more I understand about Jesus Christ and His gospel. I'm not satisfied because of how my circumstances changed, but because of how I changed because of Christ. Life-even mission life-is hard and sometimes not enjoyable. But the gospel of Christ is not. And I have been so close to God either because of, or regardless of- I can't choose which word- these last 6 months. Probably both.
Cool guy Johnathan didn't come to church cus was a death in his family. Understandable. I think all our friends are in "eh ben bien sûr I believe and agree that everything you say is true! Oh but I'm a die hard catholic/advantist/evangelist/ témoin Jéhovah so what the freak no I'm not gonna do any invitations" mode.
BUT that's okay because we are really focusing on less active work and we've seen a lot of cool things come from that
Since the beginning of my mission I've been wanting to make content for the Facebook page, Venez au Christ aux antilles françaises, cus I LOVE making videos. But I never did, because it wasn't the classic "missionary work" that we all know. I was too scared to be like yo companion let's take time to do this because I know how to do it and I feel like it would be successful.
Well I finally did it! There's this créole song called Bondye W Fidèl (freaking fire) and I was like let's do a quick cover of this song with a cool music video and run it as a Facebook ad. There were doubters and haters but I was like yo les gars je vous promis que it will be GOOD but they were like

. but NO WORRIES. because we DID IT ANYWAYS. I covered the song with my ukelele and all of our "angelic" voices and then all us French side missionnaires recorded videos and I edited it all together.

The video was posted on Saturday. JUST HOURS after it was posted, we got a referall from it! And then AGAIN the next day! And then TWO MORE THIS MORNING!!! AND THAT'S JUST ME AND MY COMPANIONS!! 4 referalls so far! Normally I get like 1 or 2 every TRANSFER (6 weeks)!!! Very very VERY cool blessing/miracle, and the video was trash, I am not making myself look good, the point simply is that if you use your talents, or TRY, God will bless you, even if you have fears or doubts.
We had zone conference, that was good.
You know what
we shouldn't avoid hard things, we should master them. Because the purpose of Christ is to make us masters, not avoiders
That's something I'm still figuring out. But in a more emotional-overthinking sense.
So
ça va aller car jésus n'a pas changé
ça va aller car jésus n'a pas changé
JAMES 1:27 WOW I LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
Pure religion.
PURE. RELIGION.
is simply the love of Christ in all forms.
There is nothing more true than Christ and His doctrine, and that's why it's best described as "joy"
Cheese and Crackers is taken to a whole different level when you're in French territory mmmmMMM
