Week 61 - Will I go home in 3 1/2 months, or 5??? Anyways pray I get my papers

Tuesday zone conference was fun woo. Swallowed the hard pill that I'm illegal and so that means I will be stuck on Guadeloupe until 1) I become legal or 2) I finish my mission

That's alright just might lose my mind

I lost the game

Wednesday  visited this lady Monique at the hospital. I'll explain. Called many numbers last week. Monique answered. We were like hey can we share the gospel. She was she was in the hospital. We said oh word we'll visit you then. She was like okay. So we go. We go to the front desk cus idk if I'm supposed to check in! I guess we DIDN'T need to and so the lady assumed we needed Help finding the room. So she was asking "is she married or single?" I still thought we were checking in and that she needed that info to let us go? And so I called Monique and said "hey are you married?" and she was like "am I married?!" I was like oh man on the inside. Then she said "forget it!" anyways I found her room anyways and it ended up being really really awesome!!! So all was well.

went to go teach our friend Samuel and then his wife Érika showed up and was very interested and BOOM CRAZY COOL LESSON, they were like "society is unjust" and I shared the scripture that's like "all are alike unto God" etc and then it was way cool and the spirit was strong and after the silent pause Erika was like " wow those words resonate" and  the whole lesson was so cool

Thursday lemme clarify. Last week I didn't actually watch any movies. What I meant was that Sœur Kaberry retold movie plots to me. There was a ROACH and all was well in zion I was killing it no problem and then it touched my journal and then I hated it so much I killed it and then i wanted it to be resurrected so I could kill it again. Taught Naéjy a guy we found  from FB!!! He told us we shouldn't wear jewelry cus the Bible says not to. 😾 Well Mr man the Bible also condones animal sacrifices so where are your goat carcasses eh?

Friday good old mami Bouchaut. She's an old lady, she speaks English, Spanish, and is now gonna tackle Italian🙀

Parked in front of members house. Dudes pulled over and started to flirt,  dudes got poetic "the moon is for you; your parents have to be so beautiful" (honestly I was impressed by the moon thing they were saying) then they were like "are you lost" we said no. Then they went into the house that we were about to go visit a member in. We called the member and she was like "oh so sorry! I have guests over now, another time!" I said "yeah, we saw them" or more accurately, THEY sure saw US. in short, we did not visit her

Saturday knocked on doors for soooo long and it was fun cus sister Kaberry told me about her Kitamat life and her friend that in my opinion, she needs to marry. Pet a paralized puppy😭

Sunday 7 HOUR CHURCH?!!?? WHAAAT !? Yeah idk about that one. Well, it happened. 9:00-4:00. Why?! Cus there was a branch meal and activites and all sorts of stuff cus I guess we're trying to sell the gospel now instead of share it simply. Hmmmmm mm.. It's okay though sister kaberry and I dipped after the 2 1/2 hour of church, also saving new convert Yvrose when the branch president had a smiling fight trying to get her to stay until 4.

Went to teach a guy, MOST TINY ROAD IN THE MOST WINDY, TIGHT KINDA NEIGHBORHOOD EVER! A dude coming the way we were going from had to back up to let us go by it was wild. And he was SO KIND, it really got me thinking about the chill people I know here, I love the chill Guadeloupeans, they are just so insanely respectful and kind

In reading the Book of Mormon, I love how there's a repeated phrase about God remembering the covenant He made with their fathers. It's just like aw wow we really are one huge family, God just wants us to all be linked together all sealed up nice and tight in the Celestial kingdom with Him, from Adam and Eve all the way down to the last people wait oh my gosh I wonder who the last person to ever be born will be

SUZETTE! Our dear beloved Suzette I love that woman. Yeah shes a single mom who works Mon-Fri, super tired, then she told us that she now has to work Saturdays too! Yikes. She was going through it. So we suggested a priesthood blessing. WOO elder Janke and Elder Dulan came with us Sunday to do that, it was great. the kids who live in that neighborhood played hide and seek with us again as we LEFT. I LOVE KIDS. We had to walk through this glob of people's get together (drugs alcohol) and this lady asked who we were so I got talking to her then afterwards sister kaberry and the elders were like "a creepy dude came RIGHT up behind you while you were talking and was eyeing your ukelele TOTALLY like he was about to steal it, we were all staring him down like do it see what happens" man I wish the guy would've, I would've loved to see elder Janke body that dude. honestly that kids WILD cracked

OH okay speaking of, after that, sister kaberry and I were like elder Janke is literally Peter Parker (in like a proud motherly way dw) so then I started telling this whole story to sister kaberry making it up as I go  about a bombing in (English) Guiana and how it triggered all these natural disasters, and there's a different disaster on each island/French Guiana that's in this mission and I'm like making up all these plotlines for all the missionaries and sister Kaberry has NO idea yet but a lot of the missionaries in the story are gonna get super powers from the radiation in the bomb that was carried through the natural disasters

Week 60 - You remind me of the babe WHAT BABE the babe with the power WHAT POWER the power the power of VOODOO who do YOU DO do what remind me of the babe!

THIS MESSAGE IS FOR AUBREY PIERSON

Aubrey what the HECK you're telling me the first time I see any sign of life from you in 14 months is THE DANG DUOLINGO BIRD TELLING ME YOU COMPLETED 10 LESSONS?! i am going to kill you when I get home

If you go to the Caribbean. And the locals say. "Hey. There's a STORM😭😭😱😱. STAY! INSIDE! WE WIL ALL DIE!!!"Just know you will be completely fine but it will rain just a little. Well let me explain

So uhh first off

Tuesday Wednesday Thursday we were just DEAD absolutely dead oh my goodness. So unwell, not good, had to stay in. That was NOT GOOD because come Friday.. SKIN HEAD DEAD HEAD EVERYBODY GONE BAD Yeah so there was a STORM. THERE WAS A HURRICANE! HURRICANE TAMMY! SO THE WHOLE ISLAND WAS ON VIOLET ALERT (higher than red?!) and we couldn't leave the house and the water got cut and blah blah
ALL FOR NOTHING TO HAPPEN CUS TAMMY SWERVED GUADELOUPE!
So then after being cooped up for Friday and Saturday, we were like ahhh Sunday time to LEAVE

Well nope I wake up Sunday to THUNDERSTORMS RAIN WIND CHAOS!!! So the island was then on red alert and then church was canceled and I was like oh MAN. This is BAD. Cus miraculously, God had delivered me through Friday and Saturday. Because empty days stress me OUT. and yet He filled up that schedule! (huuuuuge miracles). But I felt like by Sunday there was no more solutions! BUT

THE LORD PROVIDEDDDDDDDDDDD!!!! OH MAN SO MANY MIRACLES!!!

I'll share 2:
I look at my phone in the branch group chat and see a zoom link to sacrament meeting. I'm like OH YES! I click on it and it's...

MARTINIQUE'S SACRAMENT MEETING!!!! BELOVED MARTINIQUE! It was so great to sit there and see some of the members, and feel the spirit. During the sacrament part though, with meeting being paused, I decided to just read in 3 Nephi 18 where Jesus administered the sacrament. And I was very filled with the Spirit it was GREAT. then I got thinking about how all the elders locked up at home get to take the sacrament (got permission), and Martinique is taking the sacrament, but I just don't get to. And I was way sad over missing out on the sacrament and all that and I just really much missed it.

TIME PASSES.... WE GET A CALL FROM ELDER JANKE AND ELDER DULAN, and they were SO excited, they were like "WE GOT PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AND GIVE YOU THE SACRAMENT!" WOOOOOOO I was SO HAPPY we left right away to the church and MAN IT WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!! plus those two elders are so awesome so the spirit was so good and I definitely didn't secretly shed some tears while they were blessing it 😳😳😳😳what the heck

So yeah that was a huge miracle for me, I was so glad to take the sacrament and have the spirit be so strong.

Oh my gosh this week we did visit this bed ridden member Marie Claude and she likes to sing with us. Well I guess she hates it now because she started playing some knock off candy crush with the volume all the way up while we sang 👤oh yeah then it became a solo for sister kaberry cus it made me laugh so I turned away to cover my laughs with coughing

I watched 8 movies this week (with my ratings out of 10)  :
Flipped (5)
Submarine (8)
Labrynth (6????)
High strung dance revolution (rip off of high strung) (3)
Blue Lagoon (6)
Let it shine (7)
Koda (5)
Dirty Dancing (8.5)

OR DID I?!?!? I didn't. But I did, in my mind. Because with all the mundane tasks sister Kaberry and I had to do due to this week's circumstances, I had sister kaberry just rapid fire out the movies. I recognized one part of one song from Labrynth so all this week we haven't shut up about "you remind me of the babe! 😃😃😃What babe🤔" she got sick of it by the end

To remember is to wake up your Spirit. It's a time sensitive matter

Lemme put you on one of the greatest general conference hymn performances EVER :

Go listen to the whole thing

I remember doing sacrament at home each week. As I was thinking about it, I remembered how my parents used the nice glasses we had with the nicest tray and we sat in the nicest room. I felt the spirit in remembering that

Basically this week I learned that when you wake up and have no idea how you're going to even LIVE the day, God will miraculously carry you through if you turn to Him. Cool stuff.

ALSO IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING ... If you ever need someone to get your cars oil changed, in French, I CAN DO THAT!!!!! New vocabulary unlocked: Mechanics

Yeah so I thuink I forgot like 90 million things
OH yeah we tried to bake without recipes and without sugar (service)

Oh I told the car place that my name was Béthanie (Bethany but in French) FELT (aka sister kaberry's first name with my last) so check out the receipt

Week 59 - Hi! I'm Kaiya! And I'm Kinsley! And this is the... KAIYA AND KINLEY SHOW!

I CAN'T BELIVE THERE WAS A DATA BREACH IN ANIMAL JAM😭PRAY FOR JAMAA🙏

This week was a good one, our friend Mareva found out she's PREGNANT😱 so yeah we're trying to help her out cus she's all alone and already has a baby and is 20 (get doxxed)

We went and visit an inactive lady (hard to find her) THEN WE FOUND THE ELDER ON FACEBOOK WHO BAPTIZED HER WAY BACK WHEN AND HE'S IN SISTER KABERRY'S HOMEWARD?!? IT WAS GREAT cus then we took a video with the member to send to him because she wanted to get ahold of him but she hasn't been able to and yeah it's been like 20 Years . COOL STUFF

You know, I really began to see how loving "little by little" is. How we're changing in such an extremely slow way that we can't see. Why?? Because CHANGE IS HARD AND IT SUCKS! And so how loving it is of God to not make us go through so much painful change all in like 1 day, rather he's spread it through the span of a lifetime. That's really cool, we get to change without it absolutely killing us, cus it happens slowly. That's just great. So yeah for all you out there who are like "😐😐😐my life is pretty mundane, I feel like spiritual growth happened every once in a while" , or maybe you think "yeah all my kids are moved out, life's just kinda plateaued, it's good, but yeah it's just pretty tame" or you just feel like you're headed nowhere, just know that God's being kind to you and teaching you at a painless pace that is so painless that you can't even SEE your progression. There's not a second of your life that's repeated or relived, not a day, even if it's the same task over and over again

Knockety knockety on doors.... A girl in her 20's maybe, answered the door and was like 😍😍😍OH MOM COME LOOK HOW CUTE THESE GIRLS ARE!!! the mom yelled back "who is it" she was like IT'S THE JESUS PEOPLE😍😍😍

THEN TURNS OUT Her mom's from st marten and her dad's from Dominica... SO SHE SPOKE ENGLISH! We had an AWESOME LESSON! How great

To pass the time knocking on doors, sister Kaberry and I think of movies or book with love stories in them that the other person hasn't heard before and then we retell it. It ends up being really funny. Or we make up stories. And be we I mean me. and I make the main character of the stories sister Kaberry. It's really funny to me

OH we knocked on one door And a dude answered and was like 😱😱😱WAIT... DO YOU KNOW KEVIN???

IT WAS JIMMY!!!! THE GUY WHO SHOWED UP WITH OUR FRIEND KEVIN AT THAT BAR PIZZA HOT FOR A DOUBLE DATE!!!! AHAHHAHA WE FOUND HIM

YULIS! Cool girl Yulis. We went to her house to teach her about the plan of salvation. HER HUSBAND JOINED. WE TAUGHT THE PLAN OF SALVATION.... BUT REALLY IT WAS THEM WHO TAUGHT THEMSELVES! Because it started with them asking us questions (hard scary ones, I was like pls don't kick me out of your house) and then after each question, they'd ask another, and all of their questions naturally led us through the entire lesson of the plan of salvation! It was so cool! That's in the top 5 best lessons for me. The spirit was there and you could literally see Yulis and Ismaël (the husband) learn and understand. So so cool. Ismaël was so excited to read the book of mormon. NICE ONE ISMAËL 😎

Sunday: "maybe we got lost in translation"! Said Taylor swift. Yeah maybe the entire Abymes branch did. Sunday school is slowly turning into REAL school I kid you not, miss lady girl went around the room and had everyone say their name and whether or not they did come follow me😵‍💫AND GET THIS: it was the Class of new members and NON members AND SHE WROTE IT ALL DOWN TOO. Man I can't really explain it in words but it was like they were gonna get graded or punished or something and it was like AHHHHH. Us missionaries were kinda freaking out on the inside. Not to mention the branch president coming in at the start announcing that this class is NOT a discussion, but there's a teacher and we all need to listen to her. And then he said "in the name of Jesus christ amen" and left. Why am I sharing this? Because it's wild. That's all. There's no crazy meaning. Enjoy

OH GUESS WHAT. When I was in Martinique, we taught this chick Alizée (if you remember in a past email) and it was one of the most powerful lessons EVER SHE WAS ELECT. then she just dipped and moved to France?! Well ever since then I've been like 🤔🤔I wonder what happened to Alizée. I wonder if the missionaries over there ever got in contact with her.

LO AND BEHOLD today I get an email from the beloved Sœur Ruetz, the most WONDERFUL person, such an incredible soul, I was in the mtc with her for like 2 days, and she was like "hey I found someone in my areabook who you found!" AND IT WAS ALIZÉE!!!!! WHAAAT! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES!!!! IT WAS SO COOL!!!! So yeah God is always acting 🦍🦍🦍

Another week of hitting send without proofreading
