Week 4 - To hell and back

Hello everybody so I tried to fly with 12 elders and 0 sisters to Barbados on Tuesday. But then at our first stop in Phoenix, the rest of our flights got cancelled because of Hurricane Ian so we spent the night in some ghetto hotel and I didn't feel safe at all around any of the elders but God protected me and all that then guess what. The church in the morning said SIKE FLY BACK TO THE MTC YOU CLOWNS! So we had to do all the travel we just did but in reverse... and yes it was easily the worst 48 ish hours of my entire life. But then I returned to my perfect district and perfect teacher and the elders in my district gave me a priesthood blessing and I immediately was so so so happy and miracles happened and God is real that's all you gotta know. And now I am flying again to go to my mission TODAY in a few hours but this time the groups are split up so I'm not flying with all the elders wooooo! And I'm flying to Guadaloupe not Barbados. And yes Guadaloupe is my mission. Its my mission more than Barbados is.

Week 3 - Joseph Mother

WHATS UP EVERYBODY THIS PAST 7 DAYS A MIRACLE FROM GOD HIMSELF HAPPENED

SO!

The part to read if you don't read the rest of the email (the miracle): Okay so my district was missing our 2 Canadian elders because they didn't get their passports back from the Visa place so they couldn't fly to provo in USA. and I was so sad because gosh dang it I love my district but I had faith that they would make it. Then I lost faith! on about thursday, friday, saturday I was like I'm just accepting I'll never meet the canadians in person :(. BUT THEN On Sunday when we were calling one of them, Elder Rolfson (I LOVE YOU ELDER ROLFSON) was like "guys I have faith... Monday's the day. Tomorrow we will get our passports back from the consulate. Monday's the day" and idk something just struck a chord with me and i was like you know what YEAH monday's the day! They'll get their passports and fly and be here by wednesday! So with elder rolfson's  INSANE faith and grandma Pat's prayers (mostly her) (just kidding).... later on sunday night ELDER DICKSON (Canadian Troy Bolton guys, he was basketball team captain so he's REALLY REALLY cool everybody)(Elder Dickson that was a joke) SENT US A MESSAGE SAYING "guess where I am" HE WAS IN AMERICA! AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE HECK HE SAID! WELL i'LL TELL YOU! HE SAID "I'll be in the MTC on Monday." monday. MONDAY! MONDAY IS THE DAY! SO GOD ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS EVEN MORE INTENSE THAN WE PLANNED, HE DIDN'T GIVE OUR ELDERS THEIR PASSPORTS, HE GAVE US OUR ELDERS! How did they do it, you ask? A family friend of one of theirs just told them they can drive across the borders without their passports if they're lucky. So then elder rolfson also drove across the border to the next day he was available! and they were really lucky at the border! All they had to show was birth certificate and stuff like that.  So now, I leave on the 27th for barbados, but ALL 5 OTHERS IN MY DISTRICT ARE HERE! AND I GET TO BE WITH THEM BEFORE I LEAVE!!!! WOOOO God is a miracle worker everybody. You guys it's so crazy to have all my district here. They are so awesome.

Actually I am going to tell you about them right now in Alphabetical order

Elder Burch: He is our district leader and a DOG. hee hee hee haw. He's very smart and he has freckles in person, not on zoom though. He laughs a lot and laughs loud which is so awesome, I love when people do that. He also is a deep thinker. Also he has a very good French accent. WOOF. He is a dwirty dwag. He also is writing songs. Elder burch is very cool. He just can't keep the ladies off him.

Elder Dickson: Elder Dickson got repeatedly destroyed in spikeball by elder rolfson. Elder Rolfson made me type that. Elder Dickson's top 3 artists are 1. Taylor Swift 2. Olivia Rodrigo 3. Kanye West. And he does not take Taylor Swift music lightly. In fact, the other day he, Soeur Whisamore, and I were singing all too well- 10 minute version. And Elder Dickson, did, in fact, know all the words. Elder Dickson is the best high five giver and they always make your hand sting afterwards. But that's a good thing I think. He also informs me about what Canada is like, for example, did you know they dont have in Canada: computers, chairs, TV's, women, and more? Also sometimes I hate Elder Dickson because he gives INSANE testimonies that light the entire room on fire and i get jealous.

Elder Millward: KING MILLWARD!!!!!!!!!!!! ELDER MILLWARD is the closest thing we have to God honestly. the kingest of kings. the colosses of clouds. He's in the top 5 funniest people i've ever met in my entire life I'm dead serious. Words just cannot explain elder millward except the phrase "the gift that keeps on giving"

Elder Rolfson: I LOVE ELDER ROLFSON he is so so sos so so soo sfun and I'm SO glad he's finally here! He's into photography and Minecraft and backpacking and he sometimes has a very strong Canadian accent. Sometimes. He enjoys piano and long walks on the beach. He has REALLY cool eyebrows and he always just makes you feel really happy whenever you're around him. And he has the faith of a prophet. So when one day you tune into conference to listen to Elder Rolfson, just know that I told you so.

Soeur Whisamore: My companion, my sisterwife for when we marry Jean Pierre (hES FROM PARIS), There's too much to say about her. Usually its very hard for us to study because I start singing a random song and then she sings it too. And she also could be a cute cartoon voice actor.  She is very patient. And we have many different personalities together, for example, minions, knock off "seinfeld", "pick me person", etc. She's very ver yver vyer very very very AWESOME and she loves her cat so much. I will miss her so much.

We found out the elders in our district literally just did not know what bed sheets were so they were sleeping on straight mattresses with the pee pads as blankets. Very funny

Anyways, the next email I send I wont be with my district. So that's why I wanted to talk about them. But yes I won't be with my district anymore. which is the most depressing thing ever because those 5 people are the best people to ever exist in the world and If i never see them again I will literally die. No exaggeration actually.

I keep accidentally hate criming people to their faces but I swear I sometimes have good intentions

Things my district has learned from me

-always say hee hee hee haw (clash royale)

-if you don't want to hear a your mom joke from me, don't speak ever. because no matter what you say i will make a your mom joke out of it

in fact, I got the phrase "your mom" aka "ta mere" banned in class. And I had to go on a 24 your mom joke fast. It was extremely hard

Week 2 - I am in Provo

Hello

Location and district: I am now in the Provo MTC and I hate it because It's BYU territory. Full offense. They gave me a BYU shirt and I threw it away. But I do not hate the MTC! It's SO fun to be with my very very small district in person. EXCEPT! 2 of the Elders are Canadian and they haven't gotten their passports back from the Visa place so they can't cross over to America so they're still online which is very very very very sad. So it's just us 4 for now. Elder Burch, Elder Millward wait I mean King Millward, Soeur Whisamore, and myself. And the more Elders I meet here, the more grateful I am for the Elders in my district. Manna from heaven, God truly only gives you what you can handle.

Random: Something fun I learned is that it feels really really good to tell people you're in the ADVANCED French district. A little TOO good... But only when they ask, of course. But honestly thank goodness I'm in the district I'm in because the districts of about 10 elders and 2 sisters? A NIGHTMARE! Just for me personally though. Definitely good that I'm in a small respectable group............... I gag when I eat the food here. It's good but I just eat too fast.

guess frekaing what? Everyone in my district, beause they are going to Tahiti, are going to learn Tahitian. BUT..... They're not learning it from English! THEY'RE LEARNING TAHITIAN FROM FRENCH!!!!!!!!!!!! so it's not like ia oroana ( whatever it is) means hello, it's ia oroana means bonjour. WHAT THE HECK!

Week 1 - Hello

Hello hello all is well

District: PERFECT! There’s 6 of us total and none of the elders are from Utah or even live close to Utah so they’re all way humble so that’s a blessing. My district is always on the same level and I love them all and we all genuinely want to be doing this and can’t wait to see each other in person. EXCEPT THEY'RE GOING TO TAHITI! ALL OF THEM! AND I AM NOT GOING TO TAHITI I AM GOING TO BARBADOS! So that’s a bit sad.😿

Companion: SISTER WHISAMORE shes a person who I would be good friends with if we just met at school or something and she has very deep insights and it’s awesome, very real. Here’s something cool she said, she said she used to wonder why it’s the “goal” to baptize people as a missionary and not just teach/serve them, but then she explained (a lot better than I can) how she realized it’s because baptism is an ordinance that REALLY helps you use the atonement and that’s pretty much the whole point of life

Mission training part: all in French. Since it’s an advanced French district, it’s exactly what it would be like if I got called to speak English and would only do 3 weeks of training… except everything is in French as if it’s my first language. So we don’t study French or anything and it’s just FRENCH FRENCH FRENCH all day long. I mean I understand it all, but it takes more effort than if I were just listening to an English lecture.
